One window, not your whole screen

Just the window showing a site or app on your list turns gray. The document you’re writing, the call you’re on, and everything else on the same display stay in full color.

Sites in your browser, with no extension

ColorPause recognizes the site in each Safari or Chrome window from the address of its visible tab. There’s nothing to install in your browser, and every window you open is covered.

Apps too

Slack, Discord, WhatsApp, games: list the Mac apps that pull you in, and they follow the same rules. A site you’ve installed as a web app from Safari or Chrome follows that site’s rule.

Limits that fit your day

Gray right away, or after a number of minutes or opens in an hour or a day. Choose the hours and days a rule applies, and take days off. Every site and app can have its own rule.

A nudge, not a lock

Gray sites and apps keep working. When you really need the color, Show in color brings it back for 2 to 30 minutes, and graying picks up again on its own.

Every display

One screen or several, in any arrangement: each window is grayed where it is, and stays gray as you move it.

See how it’s going

The Last 7 days page shows your time and visits on each site and app, and compares your daily average with the week before.

Private by design

What you browse and use never leaves your Mac. There’s no account and no analytics.
